Expanding its digital footprint

RTL International, the international channel of Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland, has expanded its reach: as of 5 July 2016, the subscription-based TV-offering will be available worldwide as live stream per app (Android/iOS) for tablets and smartphones and online.

In addition to the ad-free live stream in HD quality, which can be streamed on many TV devices through AirPlay (iOS) and Chromecast (Android), the service includes an EPG as well as programming information. The RTL International app and streaming service is available globally except for Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the USA.

RTL International has also been able to expand its distribution via OTT and cable platforms in recent months. The app will be soon available on TV-players, set-top boxes and sticks of the streaming platform Roku in Canada, Mexico, UK and France. With the US partner e-media networks viewers in Canada, Australia and New Zealand can subscribe to the station via the OTT platform iON. In the USA the channel will also be distributed via the cable network operator Mediacom Communications. Furthermore, RTL International will be offered through the new Dutch OTT-platform M2M which launches its services to subscribers these days worldwide.
